Get the ClipCabinet recorder

The Chrome extension lets you record any tab from a toolbar button. We’re still in Chrome Web Store review, so for now you load it as an unpacked extension. Two minutes.

    Download the extension package
    Download v0.15.0 (ZIP)

    Unzip the file

    A folder appears next to the ZIP. Keep it somewhere stable; Chrome reads from this folder every time it starts.

    Open chrome://extensions

    Toggle Developer mode ON in the top-right corner of that page.

    Click Load unpacked

    Point it at the unzipped folder. The extension shows up as ClipCabinet recorder. Pin it to the toolbar from the puzzle-piece menu.

    Connect it to your account

    Click the extension icon, then Settings. Paste an API token from /settings/tokens (mint a new one if you don’t have one). Save.

    Record

    Click the extension icon on any tab and hit Start recording.

Things to expect

  • Chrome will show a “Developer mode” banner across the top of chrome://extensions. Harmless. It goes away once the Web Store listing is live.
  • Restarting Chrome may show a “may have been corrupted” warning for unpacked extensions. Dismiss it.
  • The extension expects https://clipcabinet.com as the server URL by default.
